Description

What did the Native American Indians eat? As we explore the answer to this question, we learn about the different tribes of Texas and the regions they lived in. Texas has been influenced by the impact of the great tribes, Caddo, Comache, Cherokee, and others. Students will be working with ingredients, equipment, and age appropriate culinary techniques. Food is a fantastic vehicle to provide an exciting learning adventure that will captivate students as they are the “STARS” in this program. Classroom programs are smaller versions of our assembly programs under the same name allowing more topic detail, student focus and classroom activities. Discussions, worksheets, and activities that use current social studies TEKS will allow students to make sense of their world by learning the rich history involving the Native American Indian tribes that impacted Texas and the US. Kids will shine as they focus on history, geography, economics, governmental, cultural, citizenship objectives using critical thinking, problem solving, relationship building, and technology to develop conclusions through learning about the Great Native American Indians. Recipies can be modified in the event of student food allergies.
