Speaking is FUNdamental: Residency with Esther Malone
During School Day, After School
4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th
Students explore communication skills using storytelling, persuasive speaking and /or debate. Children learn how to be more effective communicators through a series of exercises and activities, including physical and vocal exercises, written journaling, storytelling, persuasive speech and debate competitions. Program culminates in a series of full debates
develop listening skills, quick thinking, concentration, imagination, critical thinking and self-expression
reinforce proper speech and grammar
culminate in a series of full debates
Five one-hour sessions -hours can be added for an extended residency
5 days X 2 classes (minimum) = $750
Minimum of two consecutive classes must participate. Also, all participating teachers must attend a 30-minute teacher/artist meeting prior to the residency.

A program is confirmed when you receive your contract by mail, fax, or email. Should illness, inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances prevent the program from taking place as scheduled, Young Audiences will offer the option of rescheduling or using a substitute artist. Programs canceled by a school or community presenter after confirmation are subject to full payment. A $25 rescheduling fee will be charged if a schedule change is requested after a program has been confirmed.
After School Policy:
A teacher or afterschool employee must remain with class at all times.
