Description

Students create original artwork inspired by literature or favorite stories. Children will listen to stories and express their feelings and ideas through various media, including clay, painting, paper art, and sculpture. Encourages creative expression, critical analysis, imagination and fine motor skills. Culminates in student-created art inspired by the stories. This residency will need to be schedule on alternate days to allow the projects to dry.

Duration: Four one-hour sessions - more can be added for a more in-depth experience.
School Fee: 4 days X 2 classes (minimum) = $600; Supply fee $2.00 per student
Minimum Attendance: 5

Other Information: Minimum of two consecutive classes must participate. Also, all participating teachers must attend a 30-minute pre-residency planning meeting.

Deadline: Minimum of three weeks prior to requested start date
Cancellation Policy: A program is confirmed when you receive your contract by mail, fax, or email. Should illness, inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances prevent the program from taking place as scheduled, Young Audiences will offer the option of rescheduling or using a substitute artist. Programs canceled by a school or community presenter after confirmation are subject to full payment. A $25 rescheduling fee will be charged if a schedule change is requested after a program has been confirmed.
After School Policy: A teacher or afterschool employee must remain with class at all times.
