Description
Interactive, multicultural musical storytelling program by solo artist-educator. Introduces students to fables and folktales from around the world and our own backyard. This dynamic, interactive performance is embellished with traditional folk sing-alongs accompanied on the banjo, guitar, mountain dulcimer and one-string pickin' bow. Students learn some American Sign Language, interact verbally and are challenged to think about the meaning of the stories.

Students Will
  • learn facts and traditions of other cultures and discover similarities of other cultures to their own.
  • learn character, setting and plot development through listening to stories.
  • participate in storytelling and sing alongs.
  • learn audience etiquette and listening skills.

Deadline: Minimum of three weeks prior to requested start date.
Cancellation Policy: A program is confirmed when you receive your contract by mail, fax, or email. Should illness, inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances prevent the program from taking place as scheduled, Young Audiences will offer the option of rescheduling or using a substitute artist. Programs canceled by a school or community presenter after confirmation are subject to full payment. A $25 rescheduling fee will be charged if a schedule change is requested after a program has been confirmed.
After School Policy: A teacher or afterschool employee must remain with class at all times.
